Maybe we should slow down for JUST A MOMENT?    April26th 2006

Amazing things happen when you share your inner thoughts... like I did at a recent PowerRead seminar in Sydney this week. Denise Wright sent me this beautiful piece of poetry... written by Denise!

Hi Wayne,

Thank you for a most informative and entertaining afternoon. I can't afford not to practice the things you shared with us in the course. Doing a "speed reading" course has long been on my "To Do" list, and I am so excited to have finally attended. I will be back...

I have attached my poem, Just A Moment. I hope you enjoy it. (you will have to slow down your reading to contemplate the words...!!) I wrote this some years ago, after reflecting on and sharing things from my past with my husband. James and I have only been married for 7 years, so we have a lot of things to share with each other in order to understand each other. This poem was the result of one such conversation. (By the way, I write under my married name - Denise Joan Wright - Denise Grecian is my maiden name, which I work under - confuses the hell out of my accountant!!)

JUST A MOMENT

As I gazed out of my window at the dawning light of day
My thoughts strayed to a time and place which seemed so far away
Through the memories of years gone by and people I knew then
Many happy days and sad ones; they came flooding back again

And, as my mind did wander to events that shaped my past
It occurred to me how easily and quickly I could cast
My thoughts back through the corridors of my mind to long ago
I was once again with loved ones and my heart began to glow

I was there in Just a Moment, back in their arms again
I could see their eyes still shining as they reached for me, and then
I could hear their joyful laughter and re-live those special days
Times for me that were so precious in so very many ways

You’re there in Just a Moment, in the blinking of an eye
Sights and sounds again so vivid, though many years may have passed by
Even though life is so busy, and where does the time go to?
You’ll re-live fond memories that, in Just a Moment, return to you

For they’re never really far away, they live inside your heart
It may only take a sideways glance to have your memories start
And, as you reminisce upon those very special years
Remember that in Just a Moment you’re again with loved ones dear

It may only take reflecting on a photograph to start
Your mind on an adventure to a place locked in your heart
Where, hand in hand you wandered on with someone special whom you love
And perhaps that one so precious is now with our Lord Above

Yet, you’ll find in Just a Moment you are with them once again
And the years have all but vanished, and you don’t have to pretend
For, even though long days have passed, you know they can return
They’re with you in Just a Moment, as within your heart they burn

If you find you have a quiet time when you feel all alone
Let your memories carry you away to days that have now flown
And you’ll find, in Just a Moment, you’re not on your own at all
You’re surrounded by sweet loved ones; all you have to do is call

P.S. Did you know that there is truly Aussie cat? Developed in 1977 by Dr Truda Straede, combining the Abyssinian, Burmese and the domestic shorthair moggie, Australia's VERY OWN CAT, is known as The Australian Mist.

P.P.S. What's a true Aussie? According to ad guru, John Singleton, Phillip Adams shouldn't represent Australians because, as he commented on Adams: " You don't drink, you don't smoke, you don't go to the races. You don't live in the real world."

the real meaning of life

The meaning of life is finding happiness and love and making a difference. It means to fight to be your own person while the res of the world tries to pressure you into being one in a crowd. The meaning of life is finding meaning for yourself.                 Tina Guo

Hi Wayne,
   a BIG thankyou....

I attended your 2 seminars in Melbourne 20th April.....& was surprised that there weren't more people there.

Course.1..' Cold calling for scaredy Cats'...we do v/little cold calling, but the techniques taught apply to so many other things we do in our business...I'm glad I went to that one;

Course 2...Speed Reading....now that's a real boon....its going to take a bit of practice ,but well worth a little effort. It's like anything you do...the more you do of it the better you get. I've been given a book as a gift every b/day, Christmas, Easter...you name it...I think I can fill 7 or 8 tea chests and now I can't wait to eat them up.

Tell your customers they're mad if they don't go to that seminar. And even madder if they don't get the Platinum Card...its really good value.
Thanks once again for that and all your great stuff.
